Helen Korn Bissell’s engaging and eloquent delivery of her father’s incredible survival of the Jewish Holocaust was extraordinary. Helen was sincere, appropriate and organized in her presentation. She later accepted questions from the audience, gave relevant answers, and made each person feel that their question was an important addition to her talk. We all left that evening feeling sympathetic and informed.

Good morning. I would like to express my appreciation to you for sharing Abe's Story with our Sunday School Class at Providence Baptist Church. It was informative, well organized, thought provoking, disturbing yet at the same time was a great example of triumph.
What struck me as a history major is how could this have happened? An entire society was torn apart violently, assets and property seized, human beings incarcerated and murdered simply for religious beliefs. Abe persevered and never felt that hatred in return toward those who persecuted him. He maintained his dignity and honor throughout the ordeal. He later made decisions to better provide for his wife and family by immigrating to the United States and fighting against all odds to become very successful!
Thank you for making the trip to Raleigh to share Abe's Story!! Please continue to share Abe's Story when you have the opportunity.
Best Regards,

Mrs. Bissell delivered a wonderful presentation to our audience. Her professionalism, passion, and energy are unparalleled, and she left the room in awe. Those in attendance received a gut-wrenching account of a Holocaust survivor. Thank you, Mrs. Bissell, I am forever grateful for the valuable lessons and knowledge you shared with us.

The way Helen told the story, including the surprise ending, made a great impact on the people present. They attended knowing the story was about a man who survived a concentration camp. What they ended up finding out about was much more impactful and important. They learned about a man who maintained his dignity and his great love for life regardless of the circumstances. They learned about a man who refused to be bitter, vengeful or hate-filled even though he was treated very brutally for more than five years across five different camps.
They left the presentation with a great love for Abe, his character and his resilience. They left feeling the power of a man’s enduring positive view of all humanity.
I cannot recommend a story or a presenter more highly.

We had Helen come and share her story with our student ministry (6th - 12th grade). As I watched Helen share with our teenagers, I noticed how engaged they were with her and how much they appreciated her thoughtful approach to themes like family, hope, and adversity. Though Helen spoke to our students, I know her powerful story is impactful for all ages and I would highly recommend her for any group.”
