Helen Bissell

Hailing from Augusta, Georgia, Helen is a proud 1983 alumna of the University of Georgia, holding a degree in Public Relations. She dedicated a decade to her family's enterprise, Parts Warehouse Co., until its sale in 1993. During the 80s and early 90s, Helen's commitment to community involvement was paramount, as she contributed to the American Cancer Society's board and the Children’s Cancer Clinic at MCG's fundraising efforts. Her extensive charity work earned her the 1989 National Young Executive of the Year award from the Automotive Service Industry. She also broke new ground as the first woman to join the Georgia Automotive Parts Association's board.

Transitioning to family life, Helen embraced her role as a stay-at-home mother, actively participating in school PTO Boards and classroom activities. In 2006, her contributions were acknowledged by the Georgia Commission on the Holocaust during the Days of Remembrance Ceremony at the Georgia State Capitol. She also played a pivotal role in bringing the Anne Frank exhibit to Augusta.

For the past 14 years, Helen has served as the Marketing Director for Chick-fil-A in Evans, Georgia, and supports the Senior Adult Program at Wesley United Methodist Church. Celebrating 35 years of marriage with Rob, they share three children, 2 sons-in-law, one daughter-in-law, and four grandsons.

With 22 years of dedication to Holocaust education, Helen aspires to continue this vital work for many years to come.
